“Seconds” is the term given to defective pins. Usually the defect is minor and not noticeable unless closely inspected. The grades and discount given is an indication of how noticable the defect is.
- Grade A – This is a full price near perfect pin. These are sold here.
- Grade B – These have minor defects. Not noticeable unless closely inspected. Example: bubble or spec in enamel. Tiny amount enamel leaking onto plating. Slight tarnished plating. Small amount of missing enamel. No glitter where there should be glitter. Low enamel Fill. Low glitter/glowing the dark fill. Slight enamel change of colour. Discounted to reflect this.*
- Grade C – These have more noticeable defects. Example: Larger amount of enamel missing. Large or multiple specs/bubbles in enamel. Heavily discounted to reflect this.*
